We are across the road from the Eveleth-Crafts-Sheridan Historical House. The house, open for guided tours Wednesday through Friday, between mid June and early October, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, offers a wide variety of permanent and annually changing exhibits affording a fascinating glimpse into Victorian daily life in this once remote, yet economically significant, area of Maine.

ATV'ing ATV's are allowed on portions of the main road. This allows our guests to access the ATV trails, restaurants and downtown Greenville directly from our property.

Driving Directions

Maine Turnpike, I-95 to Newport Exit 157 (formerly 39) (if traveling north, take left at bottom of exit towards McDonalds, Burger King, Dunkin Donuts - good place for a rest stop)

Route 7 to Dexter

  • Route 23 to Guilford
  • Route 15 to Greenville/Greenville Junction

Along the way there will be signs for Moosehead Lake Region or Greenville. At the flashing traffic light in the center of Greenville take a left, you will still be on Route 15. One and a half mile from the light you will see North Birch Street on the right hand side. You can enter from North Birch Street. The office is separate from the motel and is clearly marked by a sign over the door.

Can we bring our boat?

Yes, boat docking is free to our guests. Boat launch is at the Junction Wharf, one quarter mile from motel.

What is the tax rate?

Maine has a 8% Lodging tax.

No. We do have coffee (regular and decaffeinated) available in the office. We can direct you to restaurants that serve breakfast

Do you have a restaurant?

No. Greenville has a variety of restaurants to choose from. We would be happy to direct you.

Access to ATV trails?

Yes, at the present time ATV's are allowed on portions of the main road. This allows our guests to access the ATV trails, restaurants and downtown Greenville directly from our property.

Is Chalet Moosehead Lakefront Motel open year round?

No, at the present time we are open from May until the end of October. We take reservations year round. You can make a reservation while we are closed through our online reservations, send us an email ( or call and leave a message.

Policies: Additional person(s) $10 each per night. Pet dogs allowed in Motel Rooms and Efficiencies Only. Pet dogs $20 each per night - Not to be left alone in the rooms. All rates subject to 8% State Lodging Tax.

Check-In at 2 p.m., Check-Out at 11 a.m.

Reservation/Cancellation Policy: A deposit of one night plus tax is taken on your credit card at the time of the reservation. For cancellations made more than seven days before arrival there is a $10 per night cancellation fee with a refund of the balance of the deposit. For cancellations made within seven days of arrival the deposit is forfeited. There is no refund for early departures.

Our Docks

We offer free boat docking for guests that bring their own boat.

Docking for non-guests is available for a fee . No live aboards.

Public boat launch at the Junction Wharf is less than one quarter mile from the motel.

Boat trailers can be stored on the back lawn.

Our Pet Policy

Pet dogs allowed subject to $20 per night non-refundable fee.

Pet dogs only, please, no cats or other animals.

Dogs are allowed in the building with our motel rooms and efficiency motel units. They are not allowed in the building with our Balcony rooms. For your convenience we try to keep guests with dogs on the ground floor.

We ask that you not leave your dog alone in the room, or allow them to roam unattended.

We ask that you pick up after your dog on the lawn

We ask for your consideration of other guests that may not welcome the attentions of your dog.
